LARGE AND ON CHARGE
2.4MWh Off-Grid Containerised Solution
A 2.4MWh solution is one of three BESS’s installed at Louma Boerdery in Thabazimbi. This system, installed on their ‘Fairfield B’ farm comprises 3 x air-conditioned 12m containers that collectively house the batteries and balance components, all connected to a 2MWp PV array.
In the interest of energy security and cost savings, the installation was given the green light, which has since taken the farm to go completely off the grid.

Sustain Solar were contacted by a manufacturing facility in Johannesburg to assist in providing a battery backup solution in order for the factory to continue with normal operations during power outages.
The BESS would also need to incorporate cost saving solutions such as peak shaving, which would help reduce their monthly electricity bill, as well as the timeframe to see an ROI on the installed system.

Springfield Wine Estate has gone green! With 1200kWh of energy storage capacity, power outages are a thing of the past, as the wine is kept fresh and flowing.
The BESS has been installed to ensure optimal energy storage via PV or the grid, while still tied to a diesel generator as an additional backup source to make sure that the customer has power at all times.

MODI ‘MEGAWATT’ MALL
2.8MWh Hybrid BESS Installation
In a effort to avoid power supply interruptions affecting retailer operations throughout the mall, Modi Mall contacted Exemplar to provide a solution to keep the lights during interruptions, as well as reduce their electricity bill via means of peak shaving and load shifting.
Exemplar decided to proceed with a massive 2.8MWh BESS with PV, which would prove to be more than suitable to provide power during interruptions.
POWER FOR OUR FUTURE
Hybrid Installation
This system is used to feed the requested loads during the day with PV Power. During load shedding, the system will also supply PV power to all the requested loads during sunlight hours and battery back-up power at night time should there be loadshedding.
